Sports Day Photos!

On Monday the 18th May our Annual Sponsored Decathlon took place around the school grounds. All classes had a wonderful time and took part in a variety of events including races, target shoot and pitch and putt!

All the girls received medals and a plaque was awarded to the sportsgirl of every class. Congratulations to Gemma who won Junior Sportsgirl and congratulations to Siobhán who won Senior Sportgirl. We are looking forward to next year already!

Crazy Hair Day!

Over the years St. Colmcilles GNS has contributed to a number of different charitable organisations. We as a school community encourage our pupils to help others whenever possible.

Lámha Suas is an Irish charity based in rural Uganda. It works very closely with Madudu Girls’ C.U. Primary School. They are currently fundraising to develop a school library.  Ms. Daly, Ms. Fox and Ms. MacMahon have volunteered to help with their fundraising efforts. They will be participating in a 50km hike over the Wicklow Mountains from the 5th-7th June.

To support this worthy cause, the school will be hosting a “Crazy Hair Day” on Thursday 28th May. We would encourage all pupils (and teachers) to be as creative as possible with their hair-styles on the day!  We kindly ask for a small donation of €2, or whatever possible, to contribute to their new library.  All teachers will also be carrying out lessons based on the daily life of the girls in Madudu C.U. Primary School, prior to our fundraising event.

If you would like further information on this charity, please visit www.lamhasuas.ie.

We would like to thank you in advance for your generous support.

Sports Day 2015

Our annual Sponsored Decathlon will take place on Monday 18th May 2015, weather permitting.

All children will need:

  • potato and spoon
  • pillowcase/sack
  • scarf/tights for 3 legged race
  • plenty of fluids
  • suncream (depending on weather)

The children will wear their tracksuits on the day. Unfortunately, due to limited space, parents are unable to attend. Good luck to all the girls taking part!
